Anyone who has watched Newcastle on a regular basis this season will know what sort of difference the Magpies' Paraguayan ace has made to the forward line on Tyneside, with his performances bringing the very best out of attacking partners Ayoze Perez and Salomon Rondon.

The signs are positive for the left-footed ace and he should be much better next season after a full pre-season under his belt, but it's definitely an area of his game he needs to improve.

The lack of clear-cut openings continued with the commencement of the second half, with Jamie Vardy failing to turn home Chilwell's delivery by a whisker on the hour mark.

"Now we're coming into a set of fixtures that are hard, but I think we have more than enough ability in our squad to go and beat any team in the Premier League".

Leicester remain seventh on 47 points, while Newcastle moved up to 13th on 38 with their first away win since December. We have four to go and we have the ambition to keep climbing the table. We are really pleased with the clean sheet and three points.

Ghana winger Christian Atsu climbed off the bench to help Newcastle United beat Leicester City and boost their chances of survival in the English Premier League.

Leicester defeated Newcastle 2-0 at St. James' Park back in September thanks to goals from Vardy and Harry Maguire. Only in 1994-95 (10) and 2001-02 (nine) has it lost more home Premier League games in a single season.

Leicester City completed 649 passes in this match, their highest total in a Premier League game since 2003-04 (when Opta began recording this data); indeed, three of their four highest successful pass tallies in this time in the division have been recorded in their six fixtures under Brendan Rodgers.

It has been a long campaign for Newcastle.

Ayoze Perez thinks that Newcastle are now safe from relegation after he scored the only goal against Leicester this evening.

Since his debut for Newcastle at the start of the 2016-17 Championship season, Matt Ritchie has assisted 17 league goals for the club, at least four more than any other player in that time.
