Apple with HDFC slashes iPhone XR price in India

Apple is reported to have cut iPhone XR prices in India by around 25%. Notably, the 10% cashback on iPhone XR is available only on HDFC Bank Debit and Credit Cards. Additionally, is offering no-cost EMI offer to customers of major banks in India, including HDFC Bank credit card holders.

The revised pricing will be applicable starting tomorrow i.e. 5th April. "The MRP on our website does not change", Apple India said in an email. The 256GB iPhone XR is now available for Rs 74,000 which is the pre-discount price of the 64GB iPhone XR.

Lowering prices in the market could be the right strategy, but until Apple sells a truly low-priced phone, perhaps a successor to the iPhone SE, then it will struggle to make a dent in the market and grab share and audience in India. Apple India, of late, is running similar schemes in association with channel partners and finance companies too.

Before we get to the details of today's price decrease, you'll be intrigued to know that the reason Apple's removed 3D Touch on the iPhone XR has to do with the gadget's display.

It has also dropped the prices for iPhone XR 125GB and 256GB variant. In 2018, shipment of iPhones dropped by 47-50 percent to less than 1.7 million from 3.2 million in 2017. This is a significant discount from its original price of Rs. 76,900.

Oh hi Google Pixel 4, nice to meet you, sort of
Sadly, that only really happens for two kinds of phones: Google's own Pixels and Essential one and only PH-1. Google stopped selling the Pixel and Pixel XL on its store around this same time previous year .

The expansion might also include the iPhone 7 as the Indian government has approved Rs 5000-crore proposal by Wistron, to increase the capabilities of its production facilities in the country. If it's legitimate, the part was likely stolen from a Foxconn factory, and it tells us a few things about the iPhone 11's design.

Reductions in pricing for other iPhone models could follow soon.

In what may come as a great deal for those looking to buy an iPhone, Apple has announced a promotional offer on one of its newest smartphone.

With all-screen glass and an aluminium design featuring 6.1-inch display which is touted as "the most advanced LCD in a smartphone", the iPhone XR houses A12 Bionic chip with next-generation "Neural Engine", which unlocks new experiences for immersive augmented reality (AR), games and photography.
