Samsung Q1 profit to see shock 60% decline

Mobile carriers in the country, which has one of the world's highest smartphone penetration rates, rolled out the latest wireless technology this week on Samsung's new 5G-enabled handset Galaxy S10.

South Korea's three mobile carriers - SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus - held launch events across Seoul for the Galaxy S10 5G, whose base version costs 1.39mil won (RM4,991).

That said, Motorola's hardware costs $480 right now, and while Samsung has yet to announce US pricing for the Galaxy S10 5G, it's safe to presume that Samsung shoppers will be paying more than twice that. "We got a tipoff that Verizon will start its 5G service on Thursday", a government official said. The United States will be next when Verizon launches its 5G network on April 11.
