Former The Voice Season 13 contestant Janice Freeman died Saturday, March 2 in Pasadena, Calif. of a blood clot.

After confirming the news of her death to TMZ, Freeman's family issued a statement on her Instagram page that revealed she was in her home with her husband Dion on Saturday and suffered a blood clot.

"While at home her husband Dion performed CPR until the ambulance arrived", read a post on Freeman's Instagram account.

She was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

Despite the fact, her time on The Voice eventually came to an end, Freeman and Miley Cyrus continued their friendship.

After that dust-up, Ramos said in several TV interviews that he had not been subjected to such treatment even in Cuba and Venezuela.

Freeman maintained a relationship with Cyrus even after she was no longer on the show, and posted a very emotional thank you to Cyrus in 2018 after the star helped her and her family financially.

Freeman was also survived by her daughter, Hannah.

Freeman ended up joining Cyrus' team and made it to the top 11 before she was eliminated. She revealed on Twitter previous year that the pop star had helped her family cover some bills until they found permanent housing. "This represents you perfectly", Cyrus, 26, wrote.

Sadly, Freeman is not the first cancer-survivor Voice contestant to pass away recently. According to her manager, the singer had been battling bronchitis and lupus. "Do you understand? What she don't know is, I've been praying for her". Her final performance as a competitor was a rendition of "Shine" as originally performed by Collective Soul. "And she allows God to use her to bless my life". "Her friends and family greatly appreciate your prayers, calls, and texts during this time, and ask that they be given space to remember everything that Janice was to them as they process and mourn her loss".
