LG launches G8 ThinQ, G8s ThinQ at MWC 2019; check specs, features

But LG does believe that users are going to love the feature.

First things first, when can you buy the LG G8?

One aspect of the specs that's really exciting is the new Crystal OLED sound speaker. So, there is no earpiece or front speaker on top.

Placing the palm in front of the front camera will unlock the phone, while moving the fingers in specific ways will give various orders to the G8 ThinQ such as taking screenshots, activating music apps and controlling the volume.

In addition to these two phones, LG has also released one more device.

The hand Id comes with another built-in feature termed as the Air Motion.

But around the front, LG has added a time-of-flight camera to its 8MP selfie snapper.

In a tweet, German's foriegn ministry said, " Pakistan resolutely needs to put a stop to cross-border terrorism". He also claimed that Israel wanted to establish relations with Pakistan.

Much of the attention has been given to the foldable phones from Samsung and Huawei, given their sophisticated OLED screen technology and price range, and enthusiasts are eager to hear of another competitor in the foldable world. Now, the Infrared Camera means that it works even in the complete darkness. But it also brings a few other features that LG has in the G8 ThinQ.

There's a stripped down variant of G8 ThinQ called "G8s". Coming to LG, the V50 Thinq and G8 Thinq have been announced with some great features. Also, while the V50 comes with a standard display of 6.4-inches, the secondary panel is a tad smaller at 6.2-inches owing to the extra bezel depth it has on all sides. It also retains the notch, and screen. So don't judge a book by its cover, since the G8 ThinQ does look a whole lot like the G7 ThinQ. The smartphone comes equipped with rear mounted fingerprint sensor and is backed by a 3500mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support.

Durability-wise, it's MIL-STD 810G compliant and has an IP68 resistance to water and dust.

It's LG's first 5G device, and among only four devices announced to date that supports 5G networks. All three devices are powered by Snapdragon 855 with the Snapdragon X50 5G Modem featuring exclusively on the V50 ThinQ 5G. There 128GB of inbuilt storage, expandable via microSD.

Compared to the Galaxy S10 and its triple camera lens system, the LG G8 seems a little lacking. The fingerprint scanner is still on the rear, so LG has no plans to go for an in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone also has a neat light up 5G logo on the back of the phone that flashes yellow (signifying LG's partnership with Sprint for 5G service) anytime you touch the screen.

Unless you are trying to use the phone while eating fried chicken with both hands, I do not quite see the appeal of these gestures. Users can easily switch between the two displays. The LG G8 is likely to feature 6GB RAM and will run on the Android 9.0 Pie OS.
