Washington Wizards: Otto Era Over

The 23-year-old averaged 14.3 points and 6.2 boards per game in 39 games and 17 starts this season.

This is not the sort of move the Wizards hoped to have to make, but it's a pragmatic one in the wake of Wall's injury.

The Washington Wizards sure are an interesting National Basketball Association organization.

Otto Porter has been traded to the Bulls. And, if the Bulls could land a quality point guard to pair with Zach LaVine this team could conceivably become a playoff contender as early as next season.

Wizards owner Ted Leonsis recently said in an interview with local radio station WTOP that the team wasn't going to be dealing Porter, Bradley Beal, or John Wall ahead of this Thursday's trade deadline, according to NBC Sports' Lisa Redmond. Most importantly, Washington goes from having over $116 million, seven million over the cap, on the books next season across just six players, assuming Dwight Howard opts in to his ridiculous player option, to just $89 million if Parker's team option is declined. He has shot 36.9 percent from 3-point range. Without knocking Porter specifically, the ceiling for this move is rather limited. If Porter were to hit those benchmarks again in a season, he would be the fifth National Basketball Association player ever to post such numbers in at least three seasons.

Bobby Portis will be a restricted free agent this summer and was originally a first-round draft choice of the Bulls in 2015. He will help them and fits with their pieces-it's just that Chicago should be more interested in draft assets and cheaper young talent based on where they're at in the rebuild.

- Should the Bears have traded Jordan Howard already when they had the chance?

In exchange, the Wizards will receive Parker and Portis.
