Missing Wisconsin teen Jayme Closs found alive, suspect in custody

The Barron County Sheriff's Office will be conducting a press briefing tomorrow at 10 am.

Authorities were tipped off by a phone call and swooped in to find the girl, about 70 miles north of her parents' home in Barron. Jayme was nowhere to be found, with the Barron County Sheriff's Department describing her as likely abducted.

Since then, detectives pursued thousands of tips, watched dozens of surveillance videos and spent countless hours searching for the teenager.

The cousin of a 13-year-old Wisconsin girl who was missing nearly three months before being found safe Thursday is thanking law enforcement and the community for support.

"I have never seen this many police or emergency people all in one spot", said Krabbenhoft. Smith told KSTP the family wants justice for her sister and brother-in-law who were murdered.

Jayme's parents were killed in October at the family's home near Barron and Jayme went missing. They offered her water and food, but she declined both. Jayme was quiet, her emotions "pretty flat", Peter Kasinskas said. That arson investigation led them to his Franklin home, according to sources, who tell FOX6 News they found clothes soaked in diesel fuel and blood.

They noted that multiple other agencies were assisting, including the Walworth County Sheriff's Office, Wisconsin Department of Justice, the Town of East Troy Police Department and Milwaukee Police Department.

According to a post by the department, Jayme will be reunited with her family Thursday night.

A post on the group late on Thursday read: "We know that emotions are running high with this fabulous news. I thought today was going to be the day, and then I find out two hours later that she's found and I just can not believe this". "And I just shut myself totally down".

Barron Mayor Ron Fladten said on Thursday night he had not heard any details about Closs's discovery yet but was overjoyed at learning she is alive.
