Snow, Blizzard Conditions Expected as Storm Progresses


The Friday message urging caution comes as a major winter storm has left roads snow covered and slippery in the Upper Midwest.

Two people have lost their lives as a result of grave storm system that engendered blizzard situation in the US Midwest and severe rain and flood warnings in the South.

Significant snowfall accumulations will impact many areas of the state, according the National Weather Service (NWS) in Albuquerque.

As holiday travelers make their way back home Wednesday, a winter storm is descending on Minnesota, threatening to leave the western part of the state under a blanket of snow up to a foot deep.

"Snow with high winds and low visibility will make travel in this area unsafe if not impossible at times", Garrett said.
