Ranveer was every bit the attentive groom who did not hesitate to help Deepika with her saree when she appeared to be struggling a bit.

Deepika was styled by Indian designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee and wore a sari that had been gifted to her by her mother.

Pooja Makhija, who was accompanied by her husband Rajiv, shared a fabulous photo of the actress and her mother Ujjala Padukone.

In one photo, Ranveer can be seen helping Deepika carrying her saree pallu. The couple had returned from Italy after their wedding ceremony on Tuesday evening.

Pooja shared one more picture on her Instagram story and wrote, "When I see this couple I feel like a proud mumma".

Manisha Koirala expressed regret at being unable to make it for Deepika and Ranveer's 1 December reception at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai, citing other commitments.

However on Wednesday, Sabyasachi took to Instagram and said that the sari was a gift to Deepika by her mother, which was handed over to the designer. Congratulating the couple, Raveena revealed, "Touchwood!" The post clarified that the saree was bought by the bride's mother, Ujjala Padukone, from a store - Angadi Galleria - in Bengaluru.

The first of Deepika and Ranveer's guests began to arrive at the Leela Palace, where their reception is being hosted.

Also, the Bangalore reception is likely to be attended by veteran badminton player Prakash Padukone's friends and relatives.

Nandan Nilekani was among the guests at the event, as were Kiran Mazumdar Shaw and Sudha Murthy.
