Mega Millions jackpot nears $1 billion ahead of Friday drawing
The drawing, which rose from $667 million on Tuesday when no one had the lucky six numbers, will take place on Friday at 11 p.m. In early 2016, Powerball had a $1.6 billion grand prize , and that still stands as the highest lottery jackpot ever in the U.S.

They are due to attend a reception hosted by New South Wales premier Gladys Berejiklian later before the opening ceremony at the Sydney Opera House. Australia has embraced the concept with most tickets sold out.
