Huawei has launched three new smartphones: the much anticipated Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 X, the latter of which builds on the Pro variant with a bigger screen and battery. Both phones are now available in select European markets.
The Mate 20 Pro has a 6.4-inch curved OLED screen with 3120 x 1440 resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 86.90% screen-to-body ratio. Both devices are a part of the company's Mate series of smartphones.
Further, the new phablet sports the Mate 20's triple rear camera setup with 40-megapixel, 20-megapixel and 8-megapixel sensors.
The Mate 20 has a 16-megapixel ultra wide angle lens, a 12-megapixel wide angle lens and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 2 times zoom. Both models carry the same 24-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. Huawei insisted on stage that its Mate 20 phones are the best phones out there when it comes to processor and RAM speed, Wi-Fi downloads, Global Positioning System accuracy, camera performance, and battery performance. Then theres the charging 40W wired SuperCharge and 15W wireless charging to fill the 4,200mAh battery.
Unlike the Pro version, the Mate 20 lacks wireless charging. The phones also pack an in-display fingerprint sensor that's supposedly 10% faster than other sensors, as well as a USB-C port that doubles as a bottom speaker.
United Kingdom accuses Russia's GRU of organization of worldwide cyber-attacks
The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) said a number of hackers known to have launched attacks have been linked to the GRU.
However a render appeared to show the headphones being charged while sitting on the Mate 20 Pro's rear panel. The face unlock system is safe enough for transactions.
The chip inside the new phone is no secret: the Kirin 980 has already been announced and is set to be the most powerful inside any Android phone. It works even without an Internet connection, unlike many translation tools. It also has a 3D model scanning feature which allows it to scan objects which can be used in AR mode. It can also identify up to 10 million paintings and works of art, as well as estimate the amount of calories in food.
With a 7.2 screen, we hesitate to call the Huawei Mate 20 X a phone.
The Huawei Mate 20 X goes on sale October 26 for €899 (around $1,041 in USD).
The Huawei Mate 20X is set for October 26 in Europe and will cost around $1040 Dollars for the 6GB RAM variant coupled with 128GB storage. And the Porsche Design Huawei Mate 20 RS isn't just a mouthful, it's basically twice the price of the Pro. There is no confirmation from the company whether the new lineup will be coming to India or not.
