Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson Split After Whirlwind Engagement


TMZ reports that sources close to the couple have confirmed they split up this weekend because the timing of their relationship was "simply not" right. Since then Grande had been spotted sporting a 3-carat, $100,000 engagement ring from Davidson, and dining with him at romantic restaurants across the city.

The couple's split comes at a hard time for Grande, who's been dealing with the loss of ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, who died from an apparent drug overdose on September 7.

The two captivated the internet with a whirlwind romance that began in May and led to a proposal just a few weeks later in June. A source told Page Six that the black heart matches one Grande recently had tattooed on her body, although the source did not say where the tattoo is.

As the son of a firefighter who died in 9/11, fans considered Davidson a great match for Grande who - in the wake of the Manchester bombing - has been enduring her own trauma.

TMZ said the couple was last seen together on October 10 and that, although they are done for now, the two aren't completely writing off a possibility of something else in the future.

Multiple outlets are reporting the "God is a Woman" singer and "Saturday Night Live" star have broken up. "And you saw your invite, someone I'm very close to was supposed to come sing for you today, and because of things that she's going through, she couldn't be here today", Grande's manager, Scooter Brain, told the audience. The Daily Show's Trevor Noah performed in her place.

Grande later added: "can i pls (please) have one okay day. just one. pls".
