Google’s new Pixel phones mirror industry trends

Google's keynote was delivered in an all-new venue in NY.

At today's hardware event, the Silicon Valley company briefly talked about new Google Lens features coming to the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.

The new Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are the firm's answer to Apple's iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy S and Note flagship devices.

The Pixel 3, with its 18:9 5.5-inch display feels just like the Pixel 2 in the hand, and it should: it's 68.2mm wide as compared with the Pixel 2's 70.4mm. It uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 chipset, has 4GB of RAM and a 3,732mAh battery.

For instance, the camera's features for better shots will take advantage of software on the device itself, so that nothing gets sent to Google's servers - unless you enable a backup feature with Google Photos. Pixel 3 offers free unlimited storage for all your photos.

"If you have a Google tattoo on you, then these are the phones for you", IDC analyst Ramon Llamas said of the Pixel's limited appeal so far.

Pixel Stand will be $US80 and is also available for preorder starting Tuesday.

Google is also hiring photographer Annie Leibovitz to take pictures with the new Pixel in an effort to persuade consumers that its camera is superior.

The Pixel 2 was one of our favourite phones of last year, just like the original Pixel was a highlight of the year before that, and the newest addition to the family looks like it might just make it a hat-trick.

Pixel 3 comes in two models; one is pixel 3 and the other is pixel 3 XL. A couple of photos of that feature is presented below. Therefore, it came as no surprise to anyone that the Pixel 2 failed to become a commercial success. There's also a raft of improvements to portrait mode, better low-light photography, smarter autofocus and digital zoom, and more integrations with its machine vision app Google Lens. Using machine learning, Night Sight is created to never use the flash again taking incredibly bright untouched images.

The new feature, named Call Screen, is an extension of artificially intelligent technology unveiled earlier this year when it was used to phone a hair salon and book an appointment on behalf of a human. Call Screen shows the conversation in real time on the screen. You can choose to pick up or ignore the call.

Australia survive Yasir Shah to draw Test against Pakistan
Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq will miss the match after he suffered a fractured finger fielding on Thursday. Australia wobbled but Khawaja and Paine, who batted for 3 hours and 39 minutes, ensured a draw.

The Pixel 3 and its larger variant come in three available colors: white, black, and the new sand pink.

Google's Diya Jolly also introduced Google Home Hub.

Unlike the Echo Show and Facebook's new Portal smart display, Home Hub does not have a camera.

Google designed Home Hub to blend in with your home.

We "did not put a camera so it's comfortable to use in private spaces of your home like the bedroom", Google's Diya Jolly said.

Now tell us what you think!

Home Hub comes in four lovely colors to match your home palet.

The device features Home View, a dashboard for the spectrum of home devices, including appliances, DVRs, lights and thermostats.

Rather than being a hardware innovator, Google has differentiated itself by building strong and smart software features and this is what Google showed off in this year's announcements.

Like the Lenovo and JBL devices, the Hub can control your smart home and smart devices. The Home Hub will sell for $149 when it comes to stores October 22. Plus, smart responsive accessories like Google Pixel Slate Keyboard and Pixelbook Pen.

Fortunately, there are a few promos out there that can help you lessen the price increase of Google's new phones smartphones. The Slate also has a Titan security chip which is supposed to secure your passwords and personal data on the Slate.
