Donald Trump welcomes Kanye West to the Oval Office

Adidas CEO Kasper Rorsted told CNBC earlier this week that West has been a "fantastic ambassador" for the company, though he admitted he was unaware that the rapper meant to meet with Trump for lunch.

Now White House press secretary Sarah Sanders has confirmed the get-together, and shared details about the meeting agenda.

West has been publicly supportive of Trump since the president was elected, tweeting a photo of himself sporting a "Make America Great Again" this April and lauding Trump during the closing moments of a "Saturday Night Live" appearance in September.

West has returned the love, bucking left-leaning showbiz trends to come out as a Trump supporter, complete with the red Make America Great Again baseball cap most often seen at the president's rowdy election campaign rallies - where African Americans are often hard to spot.

"So, I think it's the bravery that helps you beat this game called life", West continued, "You know, they tried to scare me to not wear this hat - my own friends".

What's bitterly ironic about West's praise for Trump is that the president has far more in common with Superman's arch-enemy Lex Luthor.

West credited Trump with stopping a potential war with North Korea and is encouraging Trump to swap his usual Air Force One jet for a hydrogen-powered plane.

Kanye West met with President Donald Trump on October 11 at the Oval Office, giving an unprepared 10-minute monologue in front of reporters and drawing praise from Trump for his honesty. We're going to make certain categories tougher, when it comes to drug dealing and other things.

He went on to say that "we are cheating on our country" by "making everything in China, not America".

Immediately after Kanye West revealed his bad iPhone passcode to the world, he said that Apple should build Trump the iPlane1.

During one pause in West's comments, Mr Trump said: "I tell you what that was pretty impressive".

"It was something about when I put this hat on, it made me feel like Superman", West said. Kanye said that he ended up talking to Trump about prison reform and manufacturing, among other issues.

West's wife, Kim Kardashian West, visited the White House in September to discuss prison sentencing reform with Trump.

"We need prototypes so we can start working again", he said.
