The new GPUs, based on an architecture codenamed Turing, merge conventional graphics rasterisation, real-time ray tracing, AI, and compute power for the first time.
You might also notice that the card is fully enveloped by a attractive shroud, and even the NVLINK connector is protected by a matching removable cover, giving GeForce RTX GPUs a clean appearance.
However, the Real-Time Ray tracing will only be supported by the next-gen Nvidia GPUs namely the Nvidia RTX 2080, RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2070. Meanwhile, the RTX 2080, will go for $699. Yup, NVIDIA is going to offer their reference cards with a factory overclock, that means that the founder edition cards are shipping with binned dies that allow for the best clocks and overclocking potential.
Four cards are available to pre-order in the United Kingdom from eBuyer, Overclockers and Scan, with the recommended price of the Asus Dual RTX 2080 Ti weighing in at around £1,340 (around $1,720, AU$2,335), and the Asus Turbo RTX 2080 Ti costing £1,275 (around $1,635, AU$2,220).
The difficulty is that the latest Tomb Raider looks great at 4K, with richly detailed textures; with your $999 graphics card do you really want to be playing games at 1080p any more? It was not at all feasible in 3D games, except it now is (on a somewhat simpler scale) using NVIDIA's new graphics cards. The RTX 2080 will jump from 2,560 to 2,944 CUDA cores, up 15 percent.
Khalid Says Aretha Franklin "Deserves" Title As Queen Of Soul
Beyoncé and Jay-Z sent their love and well-wishes to Aretha Franklin by dedicating their Detroit OTR II show to the Queen of Soul. Tim also confirmed that while the 76-year-old singer "is sick", her family is "trying to keep her spirits up and go from there".
Following a number of possible leaks and rumors the truth has finally been revealed today at Gamescom 2018 as NVIDIA took to the stage to announce their newest graphics processing unit (GPU), the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 series. A cheaper model, the RTX 2070, will be available for $499, but won't arrive until October. Ray tracing works similarly, where rays of light hit objects and then bounce off to the camera, sometimes directly, sometimes after hitting other objects in the vicinity, just like in real life. So we can expect to see more details on this powerful video card in the event.
"Turing is NVIDIA's most important innovation in computer graphics in more than a decade", said Justin Walker, director of GeForce desktop at NVIDIA, in the release.
The non-Founders Edition versions of the cards, which aren't available through the Nvidia website, start from $US499 internationally.
Below you will find a video showing the Infiltrator tech demo running on a GTX1080Ti (do note that SLI is not working in this video so only the one GPU was being used, and that the tech demo NVIDIA showcased was running at higher settings than those featured below).
