Redskins rookie RB Guice to miss season with torn ACL

Guice will miss the 2018 season. Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, the league's highest-paid player at that position, earns an average of $30 million annually.

The 41-year-old has had multiple laid-back sessions where he barely gets any work in 11-on-11 drills and then he didn't play at all in Thursday's preseason opener.

In camp, Guice had been splitting first-team carries with Rob Kelley and Samaje Perine.

The former LSU star was fourth on the Redskins' depth chart at running back, but was expected to have a significant role this season.

USA urges Canada and Saudi Arabia to resolve feud
Bin Salman is the second most senior member of the Saudi regime, which has one of the worst human rights records in the world. Canadian investments in Saudi Arabia were still ongoing and would not be affected by the dispute, he said.

For all of the promise displayed, however, there were some unfortunate developments in the Redskins first preseason game.

On Guice's sixth carry of the night, he was tackled from behind and stayed on the ground. His season is officially over before it really got started. After providing some fantasy value two seasons ago, he turned in 62 mostly uninspiring carries past year, running for 194 yards and three touchdowns.

Still, when the masses are wondering loudly why Brady is still throwing passes late in the fourth quarter in a game which the Patriots lead comfortably, Brady's contract will now be involved in the local talking points. Guice's injury likely puts an even greater emphasis on Washington's passing game, especially considering the creative ways in which Gruden can try to replicate the run game with passes to Thompson, Jamison Crowder and Jordan Reed.
