Manchester United fans delighted with Luke Shaw's performance vs Leicester City

The French World Cup victor only returned to training on Monday following his exploits with his national side in Russian Federation this summer but has been selected by Jose Mourinho for the first game of the league season.

On Friday, British media reports suggested that the club's chief executive Ed Woodward had rejected some of Mourinho's targets and that the pair had divergent views over United's recruitment policy.

Pogba scored the first league goal of the season from the spot after only three minutes following an inexplicable handball by Daniel Amartey inside the Foxes' box.

Leicester pushed for a reply and got one in injury time in rather freaky fashion, with sub Jamie Vardy heading in from point-blank range after Ricardo Perreira's cross had come back off the post.

Jose Mourinho enters his third season in charge of United looking to capture the league title.

"That (World Cup) is in the past, it is part of history".

"I know Pogba handed one to Sanchez last season, but he wasn't giving this one up", Gary Neville said.

Dramatic images of wounded children, clothes and school bags smeared with blood were aired by the Al Masirah TV, reported AP. The Houthis have in recent months ramped up missile attacks against Saudi Arabia, which Riyadh usually says it intercepts .

"Pogba was a monster", Mourinho said.

"The thinking was that he is a very good penalty taker and he likes the responsibility of it and he's the first choice", Mourinho said, via the Mirror. We played very well, the performance was OK. Paul, he was fantastic his contribution was unbelievable, but the fuel was disappearing every minute so we were in trouble and I needed [Marouane] Fellaini and [Scott] McTominay to give me that balance in midfield.

Pogba came up with a complete performance in United's 2-1 win over Leicester City. Paul Pogba couldn't play 90 minutes, Fred the same.

"If I played Scott, I would have two kids and a new player [Fred] in midfield".

He added: "I think it's a good move because what we all saw in the summer was Pogba demanding things of players in the France dressing room".

The early confidence soon dissipated, however, and Leicester was unlucky to go in at half-time trailing, with impressive debutant James Maddison drawing a marvellous save from David de Gea in the 29th minute.

Of Pogba's penalty, which came after just 75 seconds, he said: "A very good penalty taker".
