Everton still in contact over deal to sign Barcelonas Yerry Mina

United representative Matt Judge had travelled to Barcelona last week in order to thrash out a deal, but realistically, Mina never appeared to be on United's radar - and was seen more as a smokescreen as United worked on an Alderweireld deal in the background.

Worryingly for United, who slumped to a 1-0 defeat on Sunday against Bayern Munich in their last pre-season loosener, the Manchester Evening News reports that Barca boss Ernesto Valverde "refused to rule out a move" for Pogba when quizzed by Spanish journalists.

It is believed that Mina will sign a five-year deal with the Toffees in a deal worth approximately £28 million.

Manchester United switched their attention towards England worldwide Harry Maguire instead, but were priced out of a move by Leicester City, who were demanding in excess of £65 million for the 25-year old.

Manchester United are reportedly set to complete their fourth signing of the summer, with Belgian worldwide Toby Alderweireld closing in on a move.

She also repeated her claim that she was under the influence of alcohol and sedatives at the time she posted the tweet. The tweet implied senior Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett was the offspring of the Muslim Brotherhood and an ape .

Jose Mourinho is confident of signing one more defender before next Thursday's deadline and Manchester United are largely expected to bring in a centre-back.

Alderweireld had an excellent World Cup campaign for Belgium and helped his side reach the semis.

And Catalan newspaper Sport say Everton have now agreed a deal to sign the 23-year-old defender.

The transfer window approaches its final days and a number of interesting rumors have been circulating as major clubs prepare for the 2018-2019 season. Now, he is also set to meet his new manager to discuss his future and his late arrival in preseason.
