Liverpool appear to have put all their eggs in one basket after agreeing a £66.8m deal with Roma for the services of top goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

Chelsea were ready to move for Alisson if Thibaut Courtois departed but Liverpool have acted swiftly in an attempt to secure their No 1 goalkeeper target.

Liverpool are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign the player from Roma, with the two sides opening talks over a summer deal.

Alisson spoke out on his impending transfer as he boarded a private jet bound for Liverpool yesterday.

The brothers came through the ranks at Internacional together, but in the early years Alisson trailed behind his brother, who is five years older.
