New Arsenal signing Matteo Guendouzi sends message to Gunners fans

The Gunners have added five players this window: FC Lorient midfielder Matteo Guendouzi, Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira, Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno, Borussia Dortmund center back Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner.

He has since signed for West Ham on a three-year deal.

With Per Mertesacker retiring at the end of last season, the captain's armband is up for grabs at Arsenal, but new manager Unai Emery seems unsure of who will be the towering German's successor.

I'm very happy with him.

Arsenal finished a disappointing sixth last season and missed out on a Champions League qualifying spot, with manager Arsene Wenger leaving after nearly 22 years at the club.

"We signed the players who we needed and only if one player is a big opportunity for us will we sign them". The season begins with a game against Manchester City on August 12. And then, I think my first idea is to have five captains in the team.

The mission was only launched on Sunday morning because floodwaters inside the cave were at their lowest level in days. The entire operation could take up to four days, but the initial success raised hopes about the rescue mission.

Ramsey is into the previous year of his contract, and Arsenal are keen to avoid the problems they had last season with Alexis Sánchez in the same position.

Emery said he would prefer to keep his talks with Wilshere private, but explained his unwillingness to assure the midfielder of a place in his starting line-up.

And Emery believes that, while he would be happy to head into the Premier League season with his current group of players, they will be in a prime position to strike if a transfer "opportunity" comes up.

"It was a tactical, technical decision", he said.

"I want to become part of the club's history and to achieve great things here", Guendouzi told Arsenal's official website. "I said to Ivan, Raul and Sven [Gazidis, Sanllehi and Mislintat, the collective dealing with contracts and transfers] he's an important player for me". "I want to work with him".
