Jack Wilshere has signed a deal with West Ham for three years, just eight days after his contract with Arsenal officially ended.

The England global signs for The Hammers on a free transfer after his Arsenal contract expired earlier this month, and leaves the North Londoners after 10 years playing for the senior side. "It feels good and of course my family and a few of my friends are West Ham fans so everyone's buzzing".

Wilshere has had injury problems in the past but was able to get plenty of game time for Arsenal last season.

Wilshere is set to fly to Switzerland to link up with new West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini's squad at the club's pre-season training camp.

In an interview, Wilshere claims his entire family were Hammers' fans and he had one specific player on the back of his shirt.

"He is a passionate man and has shown winning characteristics throughout his career".

The 26-year-old midfielder, who has won 34 caps for England, becomes Manuel Pellegrini's fourth summer signing following the arrivals of Issa Diop, Ryan Fredericks and Lukasz Fabianski.

Wilshere was left looking for a new club after new Arsenal manager Unai Emery determined him to be surplus to requirements at The Emirates and told him to look for a new team.
