Thousands protest Trump's immigration policies in NYC


President Donald Trump said he thinks Democrats will lose future elections if they run on a platform of abolishing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, as more liberals join the progressive call to dismantle the agency.

In a series of tweets, Trump praised the agency as "one of the smartest, toughest and most spirited law enforcement groups of men and women that I have ever seen".

The activists pushing for ICE abolition, meanwhile, said they aren't anxious about potential blowback or any difficulties for Democrats facing more conservative voters, including those potentially swayed by Trump's repeated charges that Democrats favor "open borders".

"I believe that it has become a deportation force, and I think you should separate the criminal justice from the immigration issues and I think you should re-imagine ice under a new agency with a very different mission and take those two missions out", Sen.
