Hornets trade Dwight Howard to Nets for Timofey Mozgov

With the Nets set to move into Brooklyn later that year, it was a chance for one of the league's biggest stars to become the foundational face of the team's transition into the Big Apple. At this point, that it what it is and Howard as a player is what he is - an aging former superstar who has enough game to still be a productive piece. He subsequently did so, opting into his Magic contract for the next season, and ending trade talks.

Howard would appear to be a odd fit for the Nets, given Brooklyn has young center Jarrett Allen.

As first reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Charlotte Hornets have agreed to send Dwight Howard to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Timofey Mozgov and two second round draft picks.

The match in itself had far from the smoothness of the first half, with injuries and substitutions punctuating the entire half. The team tries to win the ball aggressively and often uses long passes to the wingers who deliver crosses to the forwards .

Just a day before the NBA Draft, the Brooklyn Nets and the Charlotte Hornets have taken steps towards rebuilding their franchises by participating in a trade, with the main mover in that trade being Dwight Howard. He then spent one year with the Atlanta Hawks and one with the Hornets.

They could form a center tandem with Howard and Allen splitting time, while Allen gets to observe some of the veteran tricks Howard has picked up over the course of 14 National Basketball Association campaigns.

Howard has $23.8 million remaining on a contract that expires after the 2018-19 season. Howard could even be bought out by the Nets, though that has not been publicly broached to this point. Howard, on the other hand, averaged 16.6 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game over 81 games.
