‘First Man’ Trailer Gives First Look at Ryan Gosling as Neil Armstrong

Ryan Gosling plays Armstrong with a cropped haircut and intense frown, while Claire Foy is the obligatory anxious wife. For First Man, he's packing him into a rocket and sending him to the moon.

Well, we say off to the moon, but the film is really about Neil Armstrong (played here by Gosling) and NASA's mission to get astronauts to the lunar surface.

Fans received their first look at the clip during Friday night's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! The movie will explore the sacrifices and the cost - on Armstrong and on the nation - of one of the most unsafe missions in history. The biopic will be set between 1961 and 1969, depicting the years leading up to NASA's Apollo 11 mission.
